Our story
It started, as these things often do, with frustration. We were building products that needed website screenshots - for link previews, visual regression testing, documentation, you name it. Every time, we ended up down the same rabbit hole: setting up Puppeteer or Playwright, dealing with Docker containers, handling timeouts and race conditions, fighting with cookie banners and lazy-loaded content.
We tried the existing solutions. Some were expensive. Others were unreliable. Most felt like they were built by people who had never actually needed to capture screenshots at scale.
So in 2025, we started building Allscreenshots. Not to compete with the big players, but to create something we would actually want to use ourselves. An API that handles all the messy details - dynamic content, cookie popups, different viewports, geolocation - so you can get back to building your product.
