Automatic popup and overlay blocking
AllScreenshots now removes page-blocking marketing and location interruptions before rendering an output. The new blockPopups option is enabled by default across screenshot APIs and dashboard capture workflows.
What it handles
- Newsletter and subscription dialogs
- Promotional and discount offers
- Country, region, language, and currency selectors
- Survey and app-install prompts
- Notification prompts and age-verification gates
- Delayed overlays, dimmed backdrops, and page scroll locks
- Dialogs rendered inside open shadow roots
Detection combines interruption-related semantics with modal-like behavior, so inline newsletter sections and ordinary page content remain visible.
Available everywhere you capture
Popup blocking works with synchronous and asynchronous screenshots, bulk and compose requests, schedules, website crawls, social images, and stealth captures. The dashboard exposes it as Block popups & overlays under Blocking.

}Because the option defaults to true, existing requests receive cleaner results without additional configuration. Set blockPopups: false when the popup itself is part of a QA, compliance, or evidence workflow.
