WebP is now the default screenshot format
Screenshots now default to WebP when you omit format. New dashboard captures, bulk jobs, website crawls, scheduled screenshots, multi-output screenshots, and composed images use WebP by default.
WebP uses lossy compression with support for transparency. Standard screenshot quality remains 80; you can set quality to balance image fidelity and file size.

-H "X-API-Key: YOUR_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"url":"https://example.com"}' \
--output screenshot.webpFor lossless screenshots, request "format": "png". Explicit PNG, JPEG, WebP, and PDF requests keep their selected format. Existing saved requests and schedules that specify a format keep that choice.
See the screenshot API reference for format and quality options.
