Download and retain stored screenshots

Understand download URLs, expiry metadata, and organization access.

Check the response metadata

When requesting a stored URL, inspect storageUrl and expiresAt in the response. Download files you need to retain before their expiry. A stored capture URL is not a promise of permanent storage. Retention can differ between ordinary captures, previews, and visual-test artifacts.

Find a missing capture

  1. Check the organization that owns the API key or capture.
  2. Check the capture identifier, creation time, and any expiry information.
  3. Distinguish a missing gallery record from a failed download of an existing file.
  4. Send the identifier and the failing download’s status code to support if the file should still be available.

Handle access carefully

Screenshots can contain account details or other private information. Treat download links as sensitive unless you know their access requirements. Download, store, and share files according to your own retention and access requirements.
