Set the layout dimensions
Set viewport.width and viewport.height to the browser viewport you want to reproduce. Responsive breakpoints use CSS dimensions, so changing width can switch navigation, image crops, and page layout. Full-page capture changes capture height, not the page’s responsive width.
Use device emulation deliberately
Use a supported device preset when you need mobile emulation. A narrow viewport alone does not reproduce every mobile browser characteristic. Device scale affects output pixel density; compare captures using the same viewport, device, and scale.
Compare like-for-like
When reporting a layout difference, include the reference browser width and the exact capture viewport or device preset. A screenshot scaled down in an image viewer can look different without the original image having a different layout.
